The Flock Visit was a tremendous success. An excellent turnout was given a guided tour of the camp's facilities, including the plant breeding section, the pig rearing unit and,of course, the outstanding flock of Lincoln sheep.

The judging competition gave everyone the opportunity to express their views before Maurice gave his expert opinion.

The walk round the site was bracing, but the hardy band of visitors came well wrapped up and thoroughly enjoyed it.

The day was rounded off with an excellent tea produced by the chefs.

It was a very good start to the season before the first show at Newark.

Although the showing season has yet to start the first opportunity to display Lincoln happened at Wonderwool Wales in Mid-April.

The event is exremely well organised, and is an excellent opportunity for wool crafters to pick up material. It therefore is an excellent opportunity for us to show what the Lincoln is and what you can do with Lincoln wool.

Having set up on Friday evening the Team spent two very hectic days talking to people about the Lincoln sheep, its wool and thew products. It was very successful, with good sales and also many contacts made with potential purchasers of stock. Sharon is manning the stand prior to Sundays rush.

2009 has seen a return to normal with breeders able to trvel all over the country with their stock. The result has been an encouraging improvement in numbers with the quality of stock as high as anyone can remember.

The Lincoln was an outstanding success with quality in every class, here is one of the lamb classes:-

Heckington also lived up to its reputation, Martyn Robinson collected the Silverware

Thanks to everyone who has sent photos and reports for Clippings. There are lots of great pictures which will appear in the next two editions and in the photo Gallery.

.The Association was also pleased to mark the Retirement of David Jones, who has for many years given us all the benefit of his expertise with wool. Maurice presented David with a tankard as a mark of our respect for his efforts.
