This is the Official Site for the Lincoln Longwool Sheep Breeders Association.

The Flock Visit took place on Sunday the 2nd of May and an excellent turnout arrived at North Sea Camp by invitation of the governor.

Our new Chairman Simon Dawson and his trusty partner John Toolan met us and we had an excellent day.

Here are most of the hardy souls that attended. For more pictures and a full report click here.

We are trying a new idea now. It is a members page. On this we will carry details of any members who have stock or products for sale and their contact details. We are hoping to expand this rapidly over the next few months but hace started with an advert form Joan Newman.

The show season is now in full swing and early indications suggest that Michael and Julie Coney have a strong team this year. They have taken breed champion at several shows. Here are a couple of their prize winning sheep.

The season's finale at Heckington this year saw an amazing turnout of quality stock. Sally Chapman's shearling ram took the top spot, closely followed by Ian and Louise Fairburn's outstanding ewe. Here she is following her triumph at the Great Yorkshire.

The Melton Mowbray sale is upon us once again. Friday September the 10th is show day with  Saturday the 11th being sale day. The event is at the market in Melton-
Post Code LE13 1JY.
It has become an extremely successful event in recent years, with good prices being achieved for good stock.
The catalogue of entries is now avaible at:-

Take a few minutes to peruse what is on offer, and try to get to the show and/or sale if possible. Spread the word to anyone looking to start a new flock or increase what they already have.

It has been an extremely successful year for Lincolns in the show ring. We have put a brief gallery of the shows on a new page. If you want to be added please send a picture and brief report to Steve.  Click Here.

We have also had significant success in marketing Lincoln lamb as a quality meat. The Association has received considerable support in this from Meridian Meats. They have had some very good news as Jim Sutcliffe, one of their butchers, has just won "Young Butcher of the Year". To read all about it got to their website.

Mike Harrison has appeared on BBC 1's "Countryfile" program on the 6th of December in a interesting piece on sheep droving. He took 17 Lincoln sheep on a walk for three miles along an old drove road. The flock looked wonderful and this is an excellent advert for the breed. Well done Mike.
